Nobis Agri Science's Response to COVID-19

Nobis Agri Science recognizes how important our business is to your business.
 
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented a wide range of measures that will minimize risk to our staff and keep our business operating at the highest level possible.

  • Our field staff are continuing to service farm customers and have been advised to take precautions as noted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We are attempting to eliminate overnight hotel stays.
  • Our production, freight and administrative staff have implemented procedures to stay clean and safe.
  • We have limited access to our facilities to employees only.
  • The entire Plainwell, MI site is implementing stringent sanitation protocols that will be monitored and evaluated as the situation develops.
  • Our business meetings and customer meetings are being conducted remotely using phone and video conferencing whenever possible.
  • Employees who are able to work from home are being asked to do so in order to reduce the possible spread of the virus.

Disruptions in Nobis Agri Science's supply chain has been limited, as our hard-working employees continue to operate safely at our facility.

  • Canola meal deliveries are experiencing long delays at the Ambassador Bridge border. We are attempting to obtain status on loads set to deliver yesterday. We have begun the process of ordering loads to deliver 1 day before due date starting next week.
  • From our contacts within the industry and government the USA-Canadian border will remain open for essential trade such as agricultural feed ingredients (canola meal, etc.).
  • We began the ordering and stockpiling of ingredients 3 weeks ago. As of now we have a sufficient supply of all ingredients and we have stayed ahead of price spikes.
  • We are working with vendors and carriers to accelerate deliveries in the coming days, weeks and months. We are utilizing all storage buildings and vessels to their maximum capacity.
  • Several years ago we began limiting purchases of ingredients sourced in China. Unfortunately several important ingredients such as vitamins are only manufactured in China.
  • We do not anticipate any domestic supply disruptions but matters change hourly, daily.
  • We are working/communicating with your dairy operations teams to ensure adequate supply without overwhelming storage capacity and resulting in significant shrink. We appreciate all of you reaching out to us and accommodating earlier deliveries.

As you know, this situation is very fluid. We are communicating as an organization regularly and updating our response protocols as needed. We are working differently, but we are committed to our customers and the safety of our employees.
